This comprehensive 7-day budget adventure combines three popular tours into one epic road trip ideal for foodies and ecotourists. The journey begins with a wildlife safari at Botlierskop Private Game Reserve before heading to the dense elephant populations of Addo Elephant National Park. You will hike the ancient trails of Tsitsikamma National Park and explore the limestone chambers of the Cango Caves in the Little Karoo. The experience continues in Cape Town with a full-day excursion to the Cape Winelands for cheese and chocolate pairings and a ride on the historic Wine Tram. Finally you will discover the dramatic cliffs of Cape Point and the penguins at Boulders Beach. Accommodation is provided in social backpacker lodges allowing you to experience the region’s diversity without the high price tag.

Itinerary
Day 1 Cape Town to Wilderness via Botlierskop
Depart Cape Town early morning for a 4x4 safari at Botlierskop Game Reserve. Travel through coastal towns to reach your backpacker stay in the Wilderness area.
Day 2 Garden Route Forests and Coastal Adventures
Visit the Knysna Heads before exploring Tsitsikamma National Park. Optional thrills include the Bloukrans bungee jump or waterfall ziplining. Overnight in Jeffreys Bay.
Day 3 Jeffreys Bay to Addo Elephant National Park
Enjoy a morning at the famous surf hub or optional beach horse riding. Head inland for a safari drive in the world-renowned Addo Elephant National Park. Overnight in Addo.
Day 4 Oudtshoorn and the Cango Caves
Travel into the semi-desert Klein Karoo to explore the Cango Caves. Optional evening elephant observation in nature. Overnight in Oudtshoorn.
Day 5 Route 62 and Return to Cape Town
Visit a working ostrich farm to learn about the feather industry. Drive the iconic Route 62 through mountain passes and vineyards with a final wine tasting. Arrive in Cape Town by evening.
Day 6 Cape Winelands and Wine Tram
Explore the Cape Winelands with tastings in Stellenbosch and Paarl and Franschhoek. Enjoy cheese and chocolate pairings and a ride on the Wine Tram. Overnight in Cape Town.
Day 7 Cape Point and Peninsula Tour
Drive Chapman’s Peak to the Cape of Good Hope. Visit Hout Bay and the Boulders Beach penguins before concluding the tour in Cape Town by 19:00.
