You will explore the ancient Cango Caves and visit a working ostrich farm in the Klein Karoo before heading to the lush forests of Tsitsikamma. The tour includes a 4x4 safari at Botlierskop and an immersive game drive in the Addo Elephant National Park: home to the world’s densest elephant population. In the latter half of the week: the focus shifts to decadence with artisanal cheese and wine pairings in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek: including a ride on the iconic Franschhoek Wine Tram. Itinerary
Day 1: Cape Town to Wilderness via Botlierskop
Depart Cape Town for a 4x4 safari at Botlierskop Game Reserve to track the Big Five. Continue toward the Wilderness area for a coastal sunset. Overnight in Knysna or Wilderness.
Day 2: Adrenaline in Tsitsikamma and Jeffreys Bay
Explore Tsitsikamma National Park via suspension bridges and forest paths. Optional bungee jumping at Bloukrans Bridge. Overnight in the surf-capital of Jeffreys Bay.
Day 3: Addo Elephant Park Safari
Spend the morning at the beach or surfing before heading to Addo Elephant National Park for a game drive in the tour vehicle. Overnight in the Addo region.
Day 4: Oudtshoorn and the Cango Caves
Travel into the semi-desert Klein Karoo to explore the limestone formations of the Cango Caves. Evening at leisure under the Karoo stars. Overnight in Oudtshoorn.
Day 5: Route 62 Wine Route to Cape Town
Visit an ostrich show farm before driving the world’s longest wine route. Enjoy a wine tasting in the valley of wine before returning to Cape Town for the night.
Day 6: Stellenbosch and Franschhoek Winelands
A decadent day of pairings including cheese and chocolate and wine across Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Includes the famous Wine Tram ride. Overnight in Cape Town.
Day 7: Cape Point and the Penguins
Drive the spectacular Chapman’s Peak road to the Cape of Good Hope. Visit the African penguin colony at Boulders Beach before returning to Cape Town by early evening.
