Overview
This 3-day camping safari provides an immersive wilderness encounter in the heart of the malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park. Guests are accommodated in permanent safari tents at either Manyane or Bakgatla Resort: both of which are situated within the unique geological setting of an extinct volcanic crater. The itinerary is designed to maximize wildlife viewing with a total of five guided drives: including four sunrise and sunset sessions in open safari vehicles and one closed-vehicle orientation drive. This transition zone between the Kalahari and the Lowveld offers a high concentration of game: including the Big Five and over 350 bird species. The package includes return transfers from Johannesburg: all park entrance fees: and traditional breakfasts and dinners prepared by your specialist guide.

Itinerary
Day 1: Journey into the Crater:
Morning collection from your address in Johannesburg or Pretoria followed by a 3-hour transfer to the reserve. Your experience begins with an orientation game drive in a closed vehicle: followed by a lunch stop at the Pilanesberg Centre. After checking into your permanent safari tent: join an afternoon sunset drive in an open safari vehicle to track the Big Five. The evening concludes with a traditional dinner prepared by your guide. Day 2: Full Safari Immersion:
Wake up for an early 3-hour sunrise game drive in an open safari vehicle to catch the morning light and active wildlife. Return to the resort for a hearty breakfast and enjoy some relaxation by the pool or resort facilities. Mid-afternoon: embark on your second open-vehicle safari of the day to search for predators and elusive nocturnal species. Dinner is served under the stars at the resort. Day 3: Dawn Drive and City Return:
Enjoy a final 3-hour sunrise safari in an open vehicle to find any remaining animals on your list. Return for a final breakfast before checking out of your tent. Spend the mid-morning on a final closed-vehicle game drive as you head toward the park exit. A lunch stop is provided before the return journey to Johannesburg: with drop-offs starting from 17:30.
